ADVANCE, Mo. -- Graveside service for Portia Ellis Dale of Advance will be held at 10 a.m. today at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Mo. The Rev. Tom Zych will officiate.
Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
Dale, 89, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at her home.
She was born May 2, 1912, at Bloomfield, Mo., daughter of the Rev. W.B. and Myrtle Whitledge Parrott. She and Charles Ellis were married May 11, 1928, at Essex, Mo. He died July 23, 1968. She and Alfred Dale were married in 1974. He died Feb. 5, 1989.
Dale was a seamstress and professional nanny. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tyler, Texas.
Survivors include a son, William Ellis of Pineland, Texas; three daughters, Barbara Merryman of Beaumont, Texas, Patricia Kimmel of Advance, Linda Frendenstein of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Effie Reese of Tyler; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two infant daughters.
