Phyllis C. Riney, 57, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born May 21, 1949, in Perryville, Mo., daughter of John and Helen Muench Henderson. She and Melvin Riney Jr. were married Oct. 12, 1968.
Phyllis was employed more than 20 years with Jackson School District, including Primary Annex, Jackson High School, and North Elementary as cafeteria manager.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, and a former member of Exchangette Club in Cape Girardeau.
In addition to her loving husband other survivors include a son and his fiancee, John Riney and Catherine Mayberry of Fruitland; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and William Bailey of Jackson; her mother, Helen Henderson of Perryville; four grandchildren, Racheal Riney of Jackson, Jennifer, Katie, and Clarissa Mayberry of Fruitland; two brothers, John D. Henderson of Mexico, Neil Henderson of Perryville; two sisters, Georgia Faye Blechle of Perryville, and Carol Brown of Searcy, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Henderson.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Myeloma Center at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Ark., or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
