Phyllis G. Dinger, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at her home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1945, in Corning, Arkansas, to Aubrey and Kathleen Poyner Murrell.

She and Tim G. Dinger were married Oct. 2, 1992, at Cape Girardeau. They enjoyed 40 years of partnership.

Phyllis was a longtime president of United Local 1106 in Cape Girardeau.

She was employed by Biltwell Manufacturing in Farmington, Missouri, 14 years and Thorngate LTD in Cape Girardeau 25 years. She loved the work she did for her fellow employees, helping with issues of workman's compensation, insurance and employee rights.

Survivors include her husband, Tim G. Dinger of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Vincent Carl Dunlap, Donald Dale (Gina) Dunlap and Daniel Dean (Christine) Dunlap; daughter, Angela Welch; stepdaughter, Timmie Marie Dinger; two sisters, Pamela (Jesse) Dunn and Dee (Bob) Jerashen; two brothers-in-law, Maurice Edward "Mickey" (Laura) Dinger Jr. and Paul Joseph Dinger; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Anne Pierce and Louise Diane Dinger; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Linda Marler, Kim Barr and Diana Novak. She loved her cats, Growler and Quike.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Richard Welch; brother-in-law, Benjamin Howard Dinger; sisters-in-law, Nancy McCormack-Rolland and Sandra Carlock; and stepgrandson, Timothy "Timo" Davis.

At Phyllis' request, no alcohol at the memorial service or gathering, please!

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

This will be celebration of life, so dress casual. Fishing, hunting and sports attire is encouraged.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

After the service, family and friends will gather at Cape County Park North, shelter No. 4.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
