Phyllis Ann Anderson Chasteen, 71, of Jackson, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Following a brief illness, she departed this world at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Cape Girardeau to Donald Lee and Betty Jean Snider Anderson Sr.
Phyllis attended Cape Girardeau Central High School and Cape Cosmetology School. She worked many years as a stylist in Jackson and Cape Girardeau.
Phyllis attended Christ Church of the Heartland in Cape Girardeau. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them.
Loving survivors include three children, Cheryl (Johnny) Newell Sr. of Oak Ridge, David (Barb) Miller of Scott City and Holly Miller of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Tessa (Tanner) Seabaugh, Elizabeth and Ethan Miller, Malik Garcia and Olivia Seabaugh; two great-grandchildren, Harper Chamness and Berkley Seabaugh; and two sisters, LaDonna Jackson and Vickie (Harry "Junior") Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Donald Lee Anderson Jr., Ronald Anderson and Theresa Blanchard; and a stepgrandson, Johnny Newell Jr.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
