MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Peter William "Billy" Laing, 5, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Marble Hill died at his home near Marble Hill on Wednesday, Jan 9, 2019.
Born June 10, 2013, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, he was the son of Randy and Lisa Marie Brock Laing.
He loved to watch the planes and helicopters at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He could identify the makes by the sound made. Playing soldier and playing with superhero action figures were his favorite pastimes. He was an honorary member of the "Justice League." He was a member of Jackson Church of Christ.
He is survived by his parents of Clarksville; his sister and close companion, Alizabeth Brock; maternal grandparents, Brad and Bonita Brock of Marble Hill; maternal great-grandparents, Harry and Yvonne Brock of Illinois; paternal grandparents, Randy Edgar Sr. of Iowa and Dr. Jennifer Laing and Therrel Reed, both of Texas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Jackson Church of Christ on Shawnee Blvd in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Jamie Hovis officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery near Marble Hill.
