BLOOMFIELD -- Carl "Pete" Tilley, 66, of Bloomfield died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Keo, Ark., son of John H. and Vevie Drye Tilley. He and Mattie Hudson were married Sept. 2, 1954, at Salcedo.
Tilley spent several years in the St. Louis area, and had been a resident of Bloomfield 10 years.
He retired as a truck driver with Mid America Metals in November 1988. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife; eight brothers, William Tilley of Summerfield, Fla., J.W., Gerald and Robert Tilley of Bloomfield, Charles and Larry Tilley of Essex, Kenneth Tilley of Van Buren, Dale Tilley of Sikeston; five sisters, Leonora Bost of Buckeye, Ariz., Maxine Robey and Floy Robey of Bloomfield, Katherine Hopkins of Poplar Bluff, and Gale Bess of Dexter.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
