PERRYVILLE -- Vincent M. "Pete" Gibbar, 76, of Perryville died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Perry County, son of Clell and Emma Kline Gibbar. He and Verna C. Behrle were married Nov. 25, 1948, in St. Louis. Gibbar was a carpenter with Wetterau Corp. PERRYVILLE -- Vincent M. "Pete" Gibbar, 76, of Perryville died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at his home.

He was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Perry County, son of Clell and Emma Kline Gibbar. He and Verna C. Behrle were married Nov. 25, 1948, in St. Louis.

Gibbar was a carpenter with Wetterau Corp. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion, Royal Order of FLEAS, and 4th Degree member Knights of Columbus.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy Leible and Faye Wibbenmeyer of Perryville; a son, Bruce Gibbar of Perryville; two sisters, Elba Welker and Velma Huber of Perryville; two brothers, Percy Gibbar of Perryville, Lester Gibbar of St. Charles; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30-9:50 a.m. The parish wake is at 6:30 and American Legion service at 7 tonight. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
