JACKSON -- Perry Lee Dockins, 87, of Jackson died Saturday Jan. 18, 1997, at his home. He was born Dec. 11, 1909, in Caruth, son of Perry Marks and Mary Cathrine Pierce Dockins. He married Mildred Gibbon Pogue on Aug. 28, 1965, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 1992...

JACKSON -- Perry Lee Dockins, 87, of Jackson died Saturday Jan. 18, 1997, at his home.

He was born Dec. 11, 1909, in Caruth, son of Perry Marks and Mary Cathrine Pierce Dockins. He married Mildred Gibbon Pogue on Aug. 28, 1965, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 1992.

He then married Loretta Wilkinson Dickerson on April 13, 1993. She survives.

He worked in electrical construction for TWA and the former Acme Electric of Cape Girardeau. He also farmed and worked for the Morton-Hall Co. of Jackson. He was a member of the IBEW Local #1 in St. Louis, the Benton United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3319 in Sikeston. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Perry Dockins Jr., of Yuma, Ariz., and Charles Dockins, of St. Louis; three stepsons, Lyle Pogue, of Roselle, and Dan and Bill Dickerson, both of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Edith Henry, of Hudson, Ill., and Carol Robinson, of San Mateo, Calif.; one stepsister, Lillie Snider, of Bridgeton; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Graham officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
