Perry Lee "Doc" Dockins Jr., 77, of Yuma, Ariz., died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in Yuma.
He was born July 14, 1935, in Cape Girardeau. He graduated from Central High School, where he developed his love for band music. He earned bachelor and master degrees in music education from Murray State University. He was a music teacher at San Pasqual High School in Winterhaven, Calif.
Survivors include his children, Anne-Heather Dockins Welch and Perry Lee Dockins III of Yuma, Bart Dockins of Clayton, N.C., Wendy Kephart and Jody Koop; and a brother, Charles Dockins of St. Charles, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Lee Fryer Dockins; and his parents, Perry Lee Dockins Sr. and Charlotte Loos Dockins.
Doc loved hunting and fishing and had many great outdoor memories with family and friends in Missouri, Illinois and Arizona.
