Pernell Bradshaw, 86, of Delta passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 5, 1938, in Zalma, the son of James and Alma Stacey Bradshaw.
Pernell and Bonnie Groves were married June 7, 1958. They had been married 60 years, when she preceded him in death Oct. 1, 2018.
Pernell was employed as a baker at Bunny Bread for 26 years. He was also employed at Walmart for 15 years.
During his life, he was involved in many ways with the community of Delta. He was a member of Delta Rotary Club, serving as president for three years. He actively participated in Delta Civil Defense, which later became Delta Volunteer Fire Department. He had also worked as the Delta water plant manager.
Pernell was a member of Delta First Baptist Church, where he served many roles, including bus driver, Sunday school teacher, deacon and Usher. Pernell was a member of Masonic Lodge in Whitewater for 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Tamara (Doug) Simminger; son, Timothy (Debra) Bradshaw; four grandchildren, Rennee’ (Brad) Clark, Lauren (Dalton) Foltz, Jessica Bradshaw and Megan (Caleb) Newcomer; and 10 great-grandchildren, Karissa Clark, Dakota Clark, Mattie Clark, Ali Clark, Camdyn Clark, Luke Foltz, Lane Foltz, Laikyn Foltz, Lynlei Foltz and Louis Foltz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at First Baptist Church in Delta.
The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the church, with the Rev. Randy Conn officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
