Percy Parrow Sr., 80, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1925, in Meridian, Miss., son of Robert and Hattie Clark Parrow. He and Melvonia Ruffin were married Oct. 9, 1954, in New Madrid, Mo.
Parrow was a farmer.
He served in the U.S. Army from July 16, 1952, to June 23, 1954.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Arthur, Melvin, Percy Jr. and Gene Parrow, all of Cape Girardeau, Michael and Jerry Parrow of Biloxi, Miss.; four daughters, Lita Mae Lewis, Ruth Jones and Lilly Twiggs, all of Cape Girardeau, Earnestine Parrow of St. Louis; three brothers, Booker, Joseph and Albert Parrow, all of Chicago; three sisters, Louise Brown, Rosalee Smith and Gaitha Johnson, all of Michigan City, Ind.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from noon to service time Saturday at Second Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Cecil B. Thomas officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with military rites by Missouri Honor Guard.
