Penny Baker, 42, of Jackson is now fully restored and at the side of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She valiantly fought a six-year battle with cancer.

She was born Nov. 26, 1972, in Cape Girardeau, to Jim and Ann Schaefer Ingram. She and Darrin Baker were married April 19, 2003, at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.

Penny was a 1991 graduate of Delta High School. She surrendered her life to the Lord at Perkins Baptist Church in 1996. Between the congregations of Perkins Baptist Church and Shawnee Hills Baptist Church, she faithfully taught vacation Bible school 15 years. Most recently, she was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church in Jackson.

She joined the staff of Tipton's in Cape Girardeau in 2001, where she worked 14 years.

Loving survivors include her husband of 12 years, Darrin of Jackson; three children, Scott Ingram and Macy Baker of Cape Girardeau and Katie Jo McAlister of Jackson; a precious granddaughter, Kylie Ingram of Oran, Missouri; her mother, Ann Ingram of Oran; five siblings, William "Termite" (Vikki) Watkins of Jackson, Robert (Sarah) Ingram of St. Charles, Missouri, Teresa Ingram of Athens, Georgia, Chuck Ingram and Angie Smith of Cullman, Alabama; father-in-law, Mike (Joyce) Baker of Jackson; mother-in-law, Sharon (Mickey) Hamilton of Palm Springs, California; and her special canine friends, Mandy and Jager.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Ingram.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Dane Baker, Mitchell Baker, Nathan Watkins, Butch Schaefer, Larry Smith and Paxton Ayers.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the family for the benefit of her children. Please make checks payable to Sarah Ingram.
