Peggy Coffer

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Peggy C. Coffer will be at 10 a.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Revs. Mark Odle and Jerry Hicks will officiate. Burial will be in Anniston Cemetery in Anniston, Mo.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to time of the funeral today at the funeral home.

Coffer, 71, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Mississippi County, daughter of Chester and Pauline Kirkpatrick Childers.

She married Hulon "Doc" Coffer in 1949. He died July 10, 1990.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and had worked as a bookkeeper for Story Farms and Ainsworth Construction Co. before retiring.

Survivors include a daughter, Pam Moore of Bartlett, Tenn.; a brother, Robert "Sonny" Childers of Branson, Mo.; a half brother, Michael Childers of Portsmouth, N.H.; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
