Pearl Procter Williams, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born March 7, 1912, at Allenville, daughter of William and Alvinia Pobst Procter. She married Fred O. Williams on Nov. 23, 1949, at Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death.

Williams worked as a cook on the river for John I. Hay Co. for 17 years. Before that, she worked for International Shoe Co. for 18 years.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, the VFW Auxiliary and the Elks Club.

Survivors include a stepson, Robert F. Williams of Cape Girardeau, and two nieces, Joyce Abernathy of Atlanta and Shirley Harrison of Cape Girardeau.

A sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Caughlan officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park.
