DEXTER, Mo. -- Pauline Elizabeth Hardy, 87, of Dexter died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Three Rivers Health Care in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born Sept. 9, 1913, at Idalia, Mo., daughter of Loy Riley "Pat" and Talitha Ann Aslin Patterson. She and Thomas Reed Hardy were married Dec. 5, 1931, at Dexter. He died in 1986.
Hardy and her husband operated Hardy's Gift and Office Supply. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and was honored for three decades of service to the chamber in February 1997.
She had been active in Altrusa, Dexter Library Book Club, Monday Club, Music Club, and Friends of the Library. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Arkansas, and had been worthy matron and grand page for the state.
Survivors include two daughters, Reeda Hampton of Dexter, Lurlyne Myers of Wappapello, Mo.; three sisters, Opal Campbell and Loyce Reed of Dexter, Virginia Parker of Sikeston, Mo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 6-9 p.m. today.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Wayne Dismuke and Reed Dillahunty officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
