Pauline Evans

Pauline Charlotte Evans, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at her home.

She was born Aug. 3, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Luther Eugene and Edna Mae Tucker Allen. She and Monroe Evans Jr. were married Oct. 8, 1945, at Morley, Mo. He died Aug. 6, 1975.

Evans worked in housekeeping at Southeast Missouri Hospital from 1970 until retiring May 3, 1989. She was a member of VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Perry Evans of Jackson; two daughters, Carol Tuschhoff of Cave City, Ky., Susie Greer of Eagle Rock, Mo.; three brothers, Hubert and Earl Allen of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Allen of Ukiah, Calif.; two sisters, Eunice Allen and Lawanda "Sissy" Bartels of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

There is no visitation.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the gazebo in Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. John Powell will officiate.
