Paul Henry Lasater, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1908, at Old Greenville, son of David Andrew and Lucy Louisa Bollinger Lasater. He and Edna Mae Arrandale were married July 1, 1934. She died Sept. 7, 1984.
He married Leone Lovell Roper on Jan. 24, 1987. She survives.
He was a wholesale lumber broker in southern Missouri.
Lasater was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau and a past member of its board.
He went to school in Ironton. He played minor league baseball with the White Sox.
He was a life member of Optimist International and an Executive Club member. He was a SEMO Booster and a member of the SEMO Senior Golf Association. He was a life member of the Friends of St. Francis and a volunteer at the Southeast Hospital.
He helped with the Convention and Tourism Bureau of Cape Girardeau and was on the Old McKendree United Methodist board in Jackson and a past member of its men's club.
Survivors are two daughters, Linda Lou Edwards of Marion, Ohio, and Paula Kay Allen of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Judith Roper Wilferth of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, La Roy R. Roper of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 4-6 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial at Arcadia Valley in Ironton.
