Paul Richard Kesterson II, 64, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Aug. 10, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to Paul R. and JoAnn Followell Kesterson Sr. of Cape Girardeau. He and Kay Sander were married Sept. 19, 1970, in Cape Girardeau.

Paul was a 1970 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. He served with the military police in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He worked as a security officer for Southeast Hospital for 15 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his parents of Cape Girardeau; wife, Kay Kesterson of Cape Girardeau; sons, Paul R. (Karolina) Kesterson III of Washington, Missouri, Jason D. Kesterson of Cape Girardeau and Zac S. (Catie) Kesterson of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Steven D. (Karri) Kesterson of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Devin, Dakota, Liam, Patrick, Josalyn, Nathaniel, Adelinn and Maya Kesterson; great-grandchildren, Lucian Kesterson, Wyatt Gudermuth and Rowan Kesterson; and loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Entombment with full military honors will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorial donations may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
