ANNA, Ill. -- Paul Eugene Johnson, 80, of Murphysboro, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro.
He was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Jonesboro, son of John Newton and Carrie Menees Johnson. He and Ann Claxton were married in 1952 in Jonesboro.
Johnson had been an ironworker in Chicago. He was a member of Elks Lodge and Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Baril of Murphysboro, Cynthia Johnson of Herrin, Ill.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Anna Cemetery, with Bishop Blaine Bartholomew officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post.
