PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Paul M. Funke, 89, of Perryville died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 6, 1912, at Longtown, Mo., son of M.G. and Louise Springer Funke. He and Ruth A. Rudisaile were married June 21, 1953.

Funke was employed by the International Shoe Factory as a seat laster and also worked as an airplane mechanic for Saberliner Corp.

He was a member of Zion Luthern Church in Longtown and American Legion Post 133

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 746th AAA Gun Battalion.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Patricia Wibbenmeyer of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; one sister, Lenola Kohlmann of St. Louis; two brothers, Martin Funke of Perryville and Julian Funke of Overland Park, Kan.; and two grandchildren.

Funke was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 a.m until time of service Tuesday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery with a military rites provided by American Legion Post 133.
