JACKSON -- Paul Edward Brown, 76, of Jackson died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 23, 1923, at Neely's Landing, the son of William E. and Jesse P. Drum Brown. He and Nellie Marie Stanley were married Dec. 7, 1941, in Neely's Landing. She survives.
He formerly worked for Mississippi Lime Company in Ste. Genevieve and was later employed for 27 years by the Jackson R-2 School District as a mechanic and bus driver, retiring in 1985. He had farmed in the Neely's Landing area most of his life.
He also is survived by two sons, William "Bill" Brown of Cape Girardeau and Wes Brown of Jackson; two daughters, Margaret Morton and Brenda Reker, both of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Chlora Slush of Ste. Genevieve, Zora McCain of Barnhart and Irene King of Jackson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Bob Medlock officiating.
Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
