Paul Edward Walker, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Nov. 4, 1921, at Zalma, Mo., son of Clarence Edward and Grace Wagner Walker. He and Mary Margaret Morton were married Jan. 15, 1942, in St. Louis. She died Feb. 11, 1995.
Paul worked at Marquette Cement Manufacturing 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and United Cement, Lime and Gypsum and Allied Workers.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and World War II Award for Patriotic Service.
Survivors include a son, Paul R. Walker of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Shari Diane Masterson of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles Walker of Torrance, Calif.; four sisters, Frieda Whitesides of Clearwater, Fla., Bonnie Ringwald of Manchester, Mo., Virginia Forsythe of Los Angeles, Calif., Betty Herson of Allentown, Pa.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3838 and Missouri Military Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund.
