PERRYVILLE -- Paul E. Knupp, 72, of Perryville, died Wednesday at St. Louis University Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Arkansas, son of Lee Andrew and Ivy Alma Medler Knupp. He and Gladys I. Pyatt were married Aug. 8, 1968. She died March 9, 1990.
Knupp was a retired crane operator with a steel manufacturing company in St. Louis. He was a member of VFW in Hayti, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Knupp Jr. of Eugene, Ore., Wayne Knupp of Florida, Jerry Blackburn of Tennessee; a brother, Cleatus Knupp of Troy, Mich.; two sisters, Madeline Ragsdale of Perryville, Nadine Pippin of Madison Heights, Mich., and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Jolly; four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
