SCOTT CITY -- Paul E. Cavaness, 77, of Scott City died Saturday, June 20, 1992 at his home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1915 in Grand Tower, Ill., son of Ervin Franklin and Clara Painter Cavaness.
He married Gladys Virginia Kinder on April 8, 1939. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1975.
He was a foreman with the Cotton Belt Railroad and retired in 1975. He was a member of the IOOF of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors are two sons, Ronald L. Cavaness of Vernon, Texas, and Kenneth P. Cavaness of Scott City; one daughter, Barbara Snider of Miami, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call today after 5 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will follow in Lightner Cemetery.
