Paul Cook

Paul William Cook, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Cape Girardeau, son of Curran and Ofa Louise Windeknecht Cook. He and Maudaline Randolph were married May 8, 1942, at Benton, Mo.

Cook had been a police officer in Cape Girardeau, operated the Bridge Cafe four years, was employed at Atomic Energy in Wickliffe, Ky., worked at Marquette Cement Co. 10 years, worked in home construction, and was a custodian at May Greene School 10 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Cook was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Paulette Gage of Cape Girardeau, Carolyn Watkins of Sedgewickville, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Ramdial officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 3838.
