CANALOU -- Paul E. Barnes Sr., 74, of Canalou died Monday, May 22, 2000, at his home.

He was born May 2, 1926, in Canalou, son of John D. and Crissie E. Shoulder Barnes. He and Bernice Bohannon were married Feb. 19, 1949, in Piggott, Ark.

Barnes was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Paul Barnes Jr. of Canalou, Don and Ron Barnes of Sikeston; two daughters, Tressie Drew of Canalou, Kay Seiler of Sikeston; a brother, Gene Barnes of New Madrid; three sisters, Wilma Smith of Sikeston, Louise Shock of Gideon, Pat Adams of Bloomington, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. The Rev. Mike Cartwright will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
