Paul Barks, 84, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Bell City, Mo., was born Jan. 22, 1923, near Bell City and passed away Sept. 15, 2007, at the University Hospital in Columbia.
Paul had worked in carpentry and in social work. He had been the director of the Southeast Missouri Agency on Aging in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Bell City United Methodist Church; where he had been a lay speaker for more than 15 years.
Paul and Inez Felker were united in marriage on Sept. 5, 1947, at Bell City.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Barks of Columbia; a son, Dennis Barks of Hermann, Mo.; a daughter, Phyllis Barks of Rocheport, Mo.; a sister, Mary Lee Haden of Perryville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Sarah Barks of Atlanta, Daniel Barks of St. Louis, and Elizabeth Hoff of Cape Cod, Mass.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Bell City United Methodist Church in Bell City. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
