Patty Sue Pecaut, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at her daughter's home in Wickliffe, Kentucky.
She was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Elvins, Missouri, to Alva N. and Mildred Propst Bales. She and Charles Vincent Pecaut were married June 20, 1953, in Farmington, Missouri. He preceded her in death May 21, 2005.
She retired after 25 years of service to a U.S. congressman's office. After retirement, she loved to travel and always enjoyed family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa (Gary) Cowsert of Wickliffe; three sons, Steve (Kimberly) Pecaut of Coral Springs, Florida, Craig Pecaut of Cape Girardeau and Ricky (Sheila) Pecaut of Jackson; two brothers, Dickie (Connie) Bales and Doug (Rhonda) Bales, both of Park Hills, Missouri; a sister, MaDonna Davis of Park Hills; seven grandchildren, Courtney Crisler, Cody Crisler, Cierra McHarry, Cole Crisler, Justin Pecaut, Katie Pecaut and RJ Peel; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation was Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service was Saturday at the funeral home, with Deacon Mark Kiblinger officiating. Entombment was at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
