BELL CITY -- Funeral for Patsy Rendleman Whittenburg of Bell City will be held at 10 a.m. today at Bell City United Methodist Church. The Rev. Linda Zych will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.

Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.

Whittenburg, 68, died Monday, March 13, 2000, at her home.

She was born June 2, 1931, at Tucker, daughter of the Rev. Chester and Ruth Simpson Pulliam. She and Robert Rendleman were married in 1952 at Bell City. He died March 11, 1972. She later married Robert Whittenburg Oct. 26, 1973, at Bell City.

Whittenburg was a 1948 graduate of College High School in Cape Girardeau, a 1953 graduate of Washington University School of Nursing and received a bachelor of education degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1968.

She had been a teacher at Oran and Bell City schools and was a rural letter carrier. She was a member of Bell City United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Robert Rendleman Jr. of Bell City, Lewis Rendleman of Kansas City, George Pulliam of Bell City; a daughter, Barbara Nolte of Higginsville; a stepson, Ron Whittenburg of Poplar Bluff; a stepdaughter, Janice Keckritz of Bloomington, Ill.; a brother, Chester Pulliam of Fayetteville, Ark.; three sisters, Flora Hall of Nixa, Jeannette Singleton of Kansas City, Sharon Borders of Senatobia, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son.
