ORAN, Mo. -- Patrick Alvin Perdue, 57, of Bull Shoals, Ark., died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at his home. He was born March 10, 1947, at Fanning, Mo., son of Stanley and Jean Lupardus Perdue. She and Carole Short were married Nov. 4, 1971, in Bull Shoals...

ORAN, Mo. -- Patrick Alvin Perdue, 57, of Bull Shoals, Ark., died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1947, at Fanning, Mo., son of Stanley and Jean Lupardus Perdue. She and Carole Short were married Nov. 4, 1971, in Bull Shoals.

Perdue moved to Bull Shoals in 1969 from Oran. He was a river and lake guide. He was retired from Bull Shoals Fire Department. He was a member of First Baptist Church, White River Guides Association and co-founder of North Central Arkansas Trout Unlimited. He holds several world and state fishing records.

He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeffrey Perdue of Prairie Grove, Ark., John Perdue of El Dorado, Ark.; three brothers, Monte Perdue of Georgia, James Perdue of Midway, Ark., Danny Perdue of Bull Shoals; five sisters, Dian Scholl and Cindy Chapman of Port Richie, Fla., Judy Puddy of Bull Shoals, Rebecca McConnell and Cathy LeGrand of Oran; and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home in Bull Shoals from 2 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bull Shoals Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Backus officiating. Military honors will be by Ozark VFW Post 3246. Burial will be private.
