MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Patrick Justin Murphy, 76, of Marble Hill died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at his home.

He was born Oct. 25, 1929, in Hammond, Ind., son of Thomas and Mary McGoldrich Murphy. He and Shirley Adele Kittoe were married June 6, 1964, in Hammond, Ind.

Mr. Murphy had been a sheet metal worker and mechanical estimator with commercial heating and air conditioning construction. He was a member of American Legion Post 363 in Rockport, Texas, Friendly Sons of Erin, and Sheet Metal Workers Local 20. He had been a die-hard member of the Chicago Cub Fan Club since 1940.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Patricia Hazlett of North Carolina, Kathryn Mack of Nevada, Christine Mantz of Jackson; three sons, Timothy Murphy of Indiana, Gerard Murphy of Maine, Douglas Murphy of Wisconsin; three brothers, Jack, Peter and Joseph Murphy, all of Arizona; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Hutchings Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today. The wake will be at 4:30.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson, with Monsignor Ed Eftink officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
