Patricia Ann "Peggy" Spalding, 83, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Chateau Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Cape Girardeau to the late Clarence and LaVada Harvell Gosnell. Patricia married Edward G. "Bud" Spalding on March 24, 1951, in Cape Girardeau. They had been married for 67 years, and they hardly ever left each other's sides.
Patricia filled her days as a homemaker, raising her three children. She loved meeting people and talking with them. Patricia and Edward were known for their love and talent of dancing together. They won many dance contests.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 67 years and was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary.
Loving survivors include her husband of 67 years, Edward "Bud" Spalding; three children, Jean Ann (Jack) Trickey and Edward G. (Kathleen) Spalding Jr., both of Cape Girardeau, and Steven G. (Darlene) Spalding of Jackson. She had a special place in her heart for her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Gosnell, and mother, LaVada Vincent, and an infant sister, Patsy Ruth Gosnell.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Douglas Breite and Daniel Maske officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School.
