Patricia Smart

Patricia Ann Smart, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, March 27, 2023, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to Benjamin Franklin and Mary Idora Lacy Thompson.

She and Marion Glen Smart were married Aug. 18, 1957, at Campbell, Missouri.

Patricia was a member of Church of Christ. She worked at several local flower shops, and she owned and operated Forget-Me-Not Florist in Bowie, Maryland.

She loved her family and her pets. She also enjoyed gardening and volunteered for the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Emily) Smart of Cape Girardeau and Phillip Smart of Crownsville, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Megan Smart and Allison Smart.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jared Scaggs officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
