Patricia A. Probst, 70, of Jackson passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, in Cape Girardeau.
She was an unstoppable force, full of love, life and laughter. Pat never met a stranger and always saw the good in people. She cared for everyone she met, running Jackson Residential Care 40 years to care for the elderly and mentally disabled.
Pat was a loving wife, and she and her husband, Harold Probst, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Her proudest accomplishment was her role as doting mother to Kevin and Brian, and subsequently her cherished role as MeMaw to her grandchildren, Dominic, 10, and Addi, 6.
We are all better people for knowing her and she is forever in our hearts and minds and will remind us always to love deeper, fight harder, be more kind and never take ourselves too seriously.
Per her wishes, a private funeral was held and she was laid to rest next to her son, Brian Probst, at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, 2536 Boutin Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
