Patricia Jo Lansmon, 60, of St. Louis, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. Louis.
She was born Oct. 22, 1955, in Cape Girardeau to Jim and Edith Matthews Lansmon.
Patricia was a 1974 Cape Girardeau Central High School graduate, a 1978 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and obtained her master's degree in 1983 from Southeast Missouri State University. She was an elementary teacher in Caruthersville and New Hamburg, Missouri.
In May 1983, she was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force as a second lieutenant and later in her career earned the rank of captain.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her parents of Cape Girardeau; brother, William R. Lansmon of Lewisville, Texas; sisters, Kathryn L. Travaglini of St. Louis and Theresa L. Mitchell of Belleville, Illinois; three nieces, Erin L. Winter, Laura E. Lansmon and Sarah A. Mitchell; and nephews, William J. Lansmon and Thomas E. Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at noon at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Memorial contributions may be given to Old St. Vincent Catholic Church, Cape Girardeau.
