VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Dennis L. "Pat" Woolsey, 81, of Villa Ridge died Friday, April 24, 1998, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Oct. 29, 1916, in Alto Pass, Ill., son of Barney and Nora Smith Woolsey. He and Oma Lee Schultz were married Dec. 23, 1945.
Woolsey was a member of Center United Methodist Church and Disabled American Veterans.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Ribbon with Silver Battle Star, two Bronze Stars, five American Service Bars, and other ribbons.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice Sauerbrunn of Jackson, Mo.; a son, Tom Woolsey of Villa Ridge; three sisters, Thelma Terry of West Frankfort, Eileen Todd of Lowell, Ind., Donna Adams of Leesburg, Fla.; four brothers, Barney Woolsey of Melrose, N.Y., Jim, Gary and Jerry Woolsey of DuQuoin; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jesse McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens, with graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
