MOUNDS, Ill. -- Pansy Pirtle Parrish Holmes, 80, of Lincoln, Ill., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of Theodore and Helen Allen Rice. She first married Vance Pirtle, who died in 1957. She later married Lloyd Parrish, who died in 1981. She and Cleo Holmes were married Aug. 7, 1995, in Jonesboro, Ark...

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Pansy Pirtle Parrish Holmes, 80, of Lincoln, Ill., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of Theodore and Helen Allen Rice. She first married Vance Pirtle, who died in 1957. She later married Lloyd Parrish, who died in 1981. She and Cleo Holmes were married Aug. 7, 1995, in Jonesboro, Ark.

Holmes owned and operated a beauty shop in Mounds several years. She was a beautician at Lincoln Developmental Center in Lincoln several years before retiring.

Survivors include her husband; a son, William Pirtle of Lincoln; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln from 4-6 p.m. today, and at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 9-11 a.m. Friday.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds, with the Rev. Jerry Herring officiating.
