BLODGETT -- Owen M. Kearby, 73, of Blodgett, and formerly of Mississippi, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at the Bertrand Retirement Home.
He was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Clay County, Ark., to James E. and Anna Nelson Kearby.
He married Susie Haynes May 9, 1956.
He had lived in Blodgett for the past several years and was of the Pentecostal faith.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Owen D. Kearby of East Prairie and Gary Kearby of Rockford, Ill.; three daughters, Loretta J. Kearby of Rockford, Ill., Cindy Kearby of St. Louis; and Judy Kearby of Florida; three stepsons, David Leon Talley of Kansas City, John Talley of Jamesville, Wis.; and Charles "Big Red" Talley of Miner; five stepdaughters, Ellen Williams of Anniston, Katherine Edwards of East Prairie; Louise Adams of Diehlstadt, Doris Wade of Somonauk, Ill., and Linda Chilton of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Doyle Hutton officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
