OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Ouida Lee Morehead Haralambidis, age 69, of Olive Branch passed away at 3:54 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Ouida was born June 25, 1951, in Cairo, Illinois, to Morris Glenn and Joanna Bush Morehead.

She owned and operated Ouida's Horseshoe Tavern Bar and Grill for 30 years; was past president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 2649 in Cairo; member of Cairo Elks Club; member of Horseshoe Lake Chamber of Commerce; and past member of Ducks Unlimited and Alexander-Pulaski Sportsman's Club. She was a graduate of the Meridian High School Class of 1969.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Morehead and Joanna Witt; stepmother, Elyvon Hafford Morehead; stepfather, Jay Witt; son, Nicholas Race Haralambidis; daughter, April Haralambidis; paternal grandparents, Otho and Alberta Morehead; maternal grandparents, Peter Bush and Alda Adams Bush Hoskins; and twin siblings, Alda Karen and Richard Darrell Malone.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Glynn Haralambidis (Chris) Charlton of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Evan, Joseph, Adeline and Jacob Charlton; brother, James (Aileen) Malone of Nampa, Idaho; sister, Morrissa Morehead Clanahan of Olive Branch; nephew, Richard Darrell (Polly) Malone of Hannibal, Missouri; stepbrother, John (Maria) Hafford of Marion, Illinois; stepsister, Susan Hafford (Tom) Brown of Carterville, Illinois; and her pets, Maggie and Dennis, who she loved dearly.

Ouida is also survived by her 13 sister-brother cousins, who she loved with all her heart, along with many wonderful friends, who were her support system these last few weeks and throughout her life.

A walk-through visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Illinois. Visitation will also be from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private family funeral service will be on Saturday. The Rev. Buddy Walls will officiate. Those attending are asked to observe the social distancing guidelines and that the wearing of a face mask or covering is strongly recommended. Inurnment will be at a later date at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to PAWS in Anna, Illinois, or to Beechwood Cemetery in memory of Ouida Haralambidis. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
