MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Ottis Wiley Howard, 80, of Matthews died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 1, 1921, at Lexon, Mo., son of Clarence and Bertha Howard. He and Dorothy Flint were married Dec. 16, 1959, at Sikeston, Mo. She died in 1995.
Howard was a farmer. He was a member of VFW at Morley, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Alan and Clarence Howard of Lilbourn, Mo., David Howard of Dexter, Mo.; a daughter, Marceline Hunt of Marston, Mo.; two brothers, J.L. Howard of Florence, Mo., Tollie Howard of Sikeston, Mo.; four sisters, Venece Hickerson of Cedar Hills, Mo., Elouise Bell of Belleview, Mo., Sue Roper of Advance, Mo., Celeste Alexander of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two sisters, and a brother.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Murrell Duffie will officiate. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.
