EAST PRAIRIE - East Prairie resident Opal Zook, 79, of 310 Cranford, died of an extended illness Sunday, Aug. 9, 1992 at Missouri Delta Medical Center. EAST PRAIRIE - East Prairie resident Opal Zook, 79, of 310 Cranford, died of an extended illness Sunday, Aug. 9, 1992 at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 14, 1912 in Corning, Ark. to the late Walter Clyde and Bertha Victoria Huddleston Smothers. Zook lived her entire life in Mississippi County.

On Oct. 10, 1956, she married Willie Wallace Zook, who died in November 1977. Seven brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. The Rev. Burl Britt of East Prairie will officiate.

Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
