EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Funeral for Opal Robinson Thompson of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., was held Monday at Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg. Tom Byers and David Parr officiated. Burial was in West Side Cemetery.

Thompson, 82, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, in a Lawrenceburg hospital.

She was born June 10, 1918, in Alabama, daughter of T.M. and Mary Jones. She and John Robinson were married in 1938. He died in March 2000. She and James Thompson were married July 8, 2000.

Thompson was formerly of Mississippi County.

Survivors include her husband; three sisters, Edith Robinson and Ruth Hubbert of Jackson, Mo., and Evelyn Upton of East Prairie.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
