CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for Opal Nickerson of Chaffee will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Revs. Gary Allen and Larry Gray will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel after 4:30 p.m. today.
Nickerson, 86, died Sunday, April 27, 1997, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 12, 1911, at Crump, daughter of A.J. and Rhoda Crump Allen. She married Floyd Nickerson, who died Aug. 7, 1974.
Nickerson was a retired teacher from Chaffee Elementary School. She was a member of Missouri Retired Teachers, National Teachers Association, Chaffee P.E.O., Delta Homemakers, and First Christian Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include three nephews, Rev. Gary Allen of Fox Lake, Ill., Patrick Allen of Pontiac, Mich., Ron Allen of Englewood, Fla.; two nieces, Peggy Lewis of St. Louis, and Joyce Miller of Leeds, Ala.
