SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Opal Ellen Bell of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Harris officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bell, 89, died Monday, Sept. 19, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Feb. 18, 1905, in Houston, Ark., daughter of Jeffrey and Ellen Lawson. She and Ervin Bell were married in 1923. He died Dec. 18, 1975.

Bell attended First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a son, Ervin Bell Jr. of Bloomfield; two daughters, Nola Jones of Sikeston, Colleen Brossee of Haynes City, Fla.; a brother, Otho Lawson of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
