SIKESTON -- Ona M. Kennedy, 87, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born Nov. 7, 1911, at Point Pleasant, daughter of Claude and Eula Smith Spence.
Kennedy had been a cook at Charcoal House Restaurant. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, John Riggs of Foristell; two daughters, Bonnie Travis of Sikeston, LaFreda Jackson of Winter Park, Fla.; a brother, Herman Spence of Dyersburg, Tenn.; a sister, Lillian White of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, a sister, and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
