DELTA, Mo. -- Oma Louise Eakins, 78, of Delta died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 20, 1922, at Arbor, Mo., daughter of Leo and Laura Davis Bullinger. She and Earl Alvin Eakins were married Nov. 28, 1938.
Eakins was restaurant manager at Woolworth's in Cape Girardeau, was a self-employed grain broker and managed O.L. Eakins Farms in Cape County.
She was Republican committeewoman for Cape Girardeau County, a rally chairperson, member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and state of Missouri member of National Order of Alley Cats in Kansas City.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Martha L. Blumenberg of Whitewater, Mo., Brenda J. Eakins of Delta; three grandchildren, Timothy Jones of Fort Benning, Ga., Deborah R. Lagrand of Chaffee and Jessica L. Kinder of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leslie E. Eakins; a brother, the Rev. Andrew Bullinger; and a half sister, Anna Robinson.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4:30 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance, Mo.
