Olivia C. Gerecke, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at her home. She was born Jan. 6, 1914, at Kelso, Mo., daughter of Emil and Dora Welter Dohogne. She and Edward Gerecke were married July 17, 1943, in Portsmouth, Va. He died Nov. 28, 1989...

Olivia C. Gerecke, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at her home.

She was born Jan. 6, 1914, at Kelso, Mo., daughter of Emil and Dora Welter Dohogne. She and Edward Gerecke were married July 17, 1943, in Portsmouth, Va. He died Nov. 28, 1989.

Gerecke was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, its Cathedral Ladies and St. Mary's Quilting Ladies.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Bonnie Gerecke of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Marie Robert and Alene Wulfers of Cape Girardeau, Virginia Randolph of Webster Groves, Mo.; two grandchildren, Corrie Gerecke and Jack Gerecke of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Grade School.
