PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Olida Edna Gerler, 84, of Perryville died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.
She was born Nov. 20, 1915 at Wittenberg, daughter of Reinhold and Lydia (Lawrence) Schuessler.
She and Rudolf Gerler were married June 30, 1937.
She was retired as head cashier for Hillman's Grocery & Specialty Store in Chicago. She later managed a business 15 years. She was an Avon salesperson 25 years. She was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago and St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold, Mo.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Betty Steffens of Frohna; two sisters, Norma Stueve, Chino, Calif., and Lorene Schilling of Arnold; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at Young & Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Palmer officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Wittenberg.
