PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Olga A. Ruessler, 92, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at the home of a daughter.
She was born July 2, 1919, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Adolf and Flora Petzoldt Koenig. She and Herbert Ruessler were married Sept. 2, 1939. He preceded her in death April 23, 1994.
Mrs. Ruessler was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, LWML and Berean Bible Study Group. She loved bowling, gardening and quilting.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Leroy H. (Placida) Ruessler of Longtown, Mo., Barbara (Glennon) Moore of Perryville, Carole (Donald) Hager of Uniontown, Mo., Donald (Mary) Ruessler and Jerry (Linda) Ruessler of Perryville; a brother, Paul Koenig of Farmington, Mo.; four sisters, Leona Thomas of Des Moines, Iowa, Esther Reisenbichler of Chaffee, Mo., Nelda Leinger of Bloomsdale, Mo., and Olivia Yeagers of Humboldt, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Melva Petty and Rosie Pierce.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Southeast Hospice, Serenity Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
