Olga A. Bodenschatz, 92, of Shawneetown, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 9, 1911, at New Wells, Mo., daughter of Adolph and Louisa Jahn Thauwald. She and Walter E. Bodenschatz were married Feb. 26, 1933 at New Wells. He died on July 18, 1979.
Bodenschatz was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown since 1933 and was a charter member of the Ladies Aid at the church.
Survivors include four daughters, Louise Katt of Ripon, Wis., Ruby Preusser and Ruth Kasten of Jackson, and Edith Dowell of Manchester, Mo.; a son, Glenn Bodenschatz of Oak Ridge; a sister, Nora Lungwitz of Altenburg, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Robert Mann will officiate, with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Shawneetown.
